Cell Phones For Soldiers
is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to serving troops and veterans
with free communication services and emergency funding. The organization was
founded in 2004 by Robbie and Brittany Bergquist at the ages of 12 and 13, just
two patriotic kids who wanted to give
back to the men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting us each and
every day.
To date the charity has provided more than 300 million Minutes That Matter to our
troops serving around the world, and it continues Helping Heroes Home via emergency funds that so far has
assisted more than 3,100 veterans and their families.
Minutes That Matter program has always
had a simple mission: to help troops call home, at no charge.Generous donations
have made it possible for the organization to provide more than 300 million minutes of
free talk time by sending more than 5 million calling cards to servicemen and
women and recycling more than 15 million cell phones. Each contribution worth
$5 provides 2.5 hours of talk time for America’s bravest men and women.
Helping Heroes
Home provides one-time emergency
grants to aid veterans making the transition back into civilian life. Since
July 2012, this program has helped more than 3,100 veterans overcome
communication challenges and physical, emotional and assimilation hardships by
providing funds for things like communication services, imperative car repairs,
rent payment to avoid eviction and more.
Cell Phones for Soldiers accepts ALL makes, models and
conditions of cell phones, including new
